Sausage and Apples

This recipe belongs to my friend Patty, who made me a wonderful cookbook of her dishes. This is one of her most popular. I often double it for parties. —Tammy Zywicki, Elmira, New York

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds smoked kielbasa or polish sausage, sliced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) chunky applesauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion

Instruction

  1. Combine all ingredients in a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered on low, until heated through, 3-4 hours.
