- 2 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 boneless pork shoulder butt roast (4 pounds), halved
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Instruction
- Whisk together first 8 ingredients in a 6-qt. slow cooker. Add pork, onion and garlic; stir to coat. Cook, covered, on low until tender, 7-8 hours.
- Remove roast; discard cooking juices. Shred pork with 2 forks. Return pork to slow cooker. Pour barbeque sauce over pork. Cook, covered, on high until heated through, about 30 minutes longer.
